Commenting on the Virgin Atlantic Award, Skytrax Chairman, Edward Plaisted said: "this is a very competitive section of the World Airline Survey,
and Virgin Atlantic Airways are clearly achieving some good levels of customer satisfaction to have been named the Best Transatlantic Airline in
the 2010 World Airline Awards. The World Airline Awards are known as 'The Passenger's Choice', and this underlines the fact that Virgin Atlantic are succeeding in satisfying the hardest
critics, actual air travellers."
The top places in this category were all taken by European airlines, with British Airways in 2nd position and Lufthansa 3rd place.
