Singapore Airlines named winner of
the Best Airline Asia title for 2011 |
|
|
Singapore Airlines was named the Best Airline Asia at the 2011 World Airline Awards,
in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
In a typically competitive region the top-3 airlines were all previous winners of the
Airline of the Year award. Singapore Airlines once again proved to be a popular choice with
passengers with last year's winner Asiana Airlines finishing in 2nd place with the group
completed by Cathay Pacific of Hong Kong.

Voted by over 18.8 million airline passengers from 100 different nationalities, the World
Airline Awards are the most prestigious quality recognition of front-line product and service standards
for the world airline industry. With 200 airlines featured, the awards measure customer satisfaction levels
across 38 different items of airline front-line product and service. |

Mr Edward Plaisted - CEO, Skytrax |
|
|
"Once again, the Best Airline Asia proved to be the most competitive category of the awards programme with the margin of difference between
each airline being very close. For the last 4-years, the winner of this award has gone on to
take the main title, unfortunately for SIA, that is not the case this year but this still
remains one of the most prestigious and sought after awards within the industry."
