Qatar Airways Premium Terminal takes accolade for the world's Best First Class Airline Lounge |
|
|
Qatar Airways First Class Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport was named winner of the World's Best First Class Airline Lounge for
customer Product and Service Quality at the 2011 World Airline Awards, in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The Qatar Airways Premium Terminal was also ranked in the world's Top 5 for Business Class in 2011.
The runners-up in this Best First Class Airline Lounge category are former winning airline, Thai Airways taking 2nd place for their First Class lounge at
Bangkok Airport, ahead of Lufthansa's Frankfurt 1st Class terminal in 3rd position.

Thai Airways operates out of Suvarnabhumi Airport, and flies to 72 destinations in 35
countries, using a fleet of 85 aircraft. Thai Airways is one of the few airlines with a uniform
change policy. International female flight attendants are required to change from their
corporate purple suits (for use outside the cabin) into their traditional Thai dress prior to
the general boarding of passengers.

Lufthansa is the flag carrier of Germany and the largest airline in Europe in terms of overall
passengers carried. The airline is the world's fourth-largest airline in terms of overall
passengers carried, operating services to 18 domestic destinations and 203 international
destinations in 78 countries across Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe. Together with its
partners Lufthansa services around 410 destinations. With over 710 aircrafts it has the second-
largest passenger airline fleet in the world when combined with its subsidiaries. Its main
operations base and primary traffic hub is at Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt am Main with a
