International Airline in North America |

Air Canada was named the Best International Airline North America at the 2011 World Airline Awards,
in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The runners-up in this category are Continental Airlines
taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Delta Air Lines in 3rd position.

2010, Continental airlines was acquired by United Airlines. These
airlines are in the process of merging their operations under the name
United Airlines. During the integration period, both airlines will, for
a time, run separate operations under direction of a combined leadership
team of the new parent company based in Chicago. Continental, together
with Continental Express and Continental Connection, offers more than
2,400 daily departures throughout the Americas, Europe and the Asia-

Delta Air Lines is based in the United States and headquartered in
Atlanta. The airline operates an extensive domestic and international
network serving all continents except Antarctica. Delta and its
subsidiaries operate over 4,000 flights every day. The airline's hub at
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world's largest.
Delta is a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance. On October 29, 2008,
Delta merged with Northwest Airlines to form the world's largest
